Haiti Cultural Exchange. Haiti Cultural Exchange is a nonprofit organization established to develop, present, and promote the cultural expressions of the Haitian people. Their programs in the arts, education and public affairs raise awareness of social issues and foster cultural understanding within and beyond the Haitian community. Their activities deepen appreciation of the rich diversity of Haitian arts culture in New York City—one of the primary outposts of the Haitian diaspora—and provide opportunities for artists of Haitian descent to develop and present their work.

The Melanin Project is a boutique creative placemaking consultancy specializing in the creation of spaces and stories that inspire action. We design experiences and storytelling campaigns that support the work of community based organizations (CBOs) and concept our own event- centric storytelling spaces that amplify traditionally marginalized narratives. We are especially eager to support CBOs who serve BIPOC community members and cultural communities of the Pan African diaspora.

Clarendon Library was established in 1913 as an unstaffed deposit station in Markland’s Drug Store on Clarendon Road at Nostrand Avenue. By 1954 it was a full-service branch operating at its current location and continues to service the local East Flatbush community and beyond

CUNY Haitian Studies Institute Archives
The CUNY Haitian Studies Institute (HSI) Archives is the repository for rare and unique materials obtained by CUNY HSI for the purpose of preserving these materials, offering patrons—scholars of all ages—access to primary source materials that are part of the Haitian experience and history in the New York diaspora. The materials within the collections include manuscripts, books, photographs, and other formats, are noncirculating and shelved in closed stacks, and are available by appointment.
